Privacy policy

Your data is in good hands with us. In this privacy policy you can read which data we keep, why we do so and which rights you have, in accordance with the European privacy regulation (GDPR).

2. Which data we keep

  • When you order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery or billing address, the contents of your order and the payment status. We never see your card or bank details; Stripe processes them.
  • When you contact us: your name, your email address or phone number and the content of your message.
  • When you visit the site: technical data that every web server briefly keeps, such as your IP address, browser and the time of your visit, to keep the site secure and working.

3. What we use it for

  • Processing your order, shipping it or setting it aside for pick-up, and keeping you informed.
  • Answering your questions and giving you personal advice.
  • Meeting our legal obligations, such as bookkeeping and VAT returns.
  • Securing the webshop and preventing misuse.

We do so because it is necessary to perform our agreement with you, because the law requires it, or because we have a legitimate interest in it, such as the security of the site. We never send you advertising without your explicit consent, and we never sell your data.

4. Who we share data with

Only with partners we need in order to help you, and only the data they need:

  • Stripe, our payment partner, which processes your payment securely.
  • The carrier, which delivers your parcel (name, address and phone number).
  • Our hosting partner, on whose servers the webshop runs. These servers may also be located outside the European Union; in that case this happens with the safeguards provided by the European Commission.
  • Our accountant, for the invoices.

5. How long we keep it

We keep order and invoice data for ten years, as required by accounting and VAT legislation. We keep messages and questions for as long as necessary to help you. Technical server data is automatically deleted after a short time.

6. Cookies and local storage

We do not use cookies to track you, nor for statistics or advertising. If you choose another language (Dutch, English or French), a functional cookie remembers that choice. Your shopping bag is only stored in your own browser, so you do not lose it when you come back later. Shop administrators use a functional cookie to log in. When you pay, you are taken to Stripe’s secure payment page, where Stripe’s privacy policy applies. If you click the link to Google Maps, Google’s privacy policy applies.

To know how many people visit the site and which pages they view, we use Vercel Web Analytics. It works without cookies and without recognising you: we only see aggregated, anonymous figures, such as the number of visits, the pages viewed, the country and the type of device.

7. Security

The webshop runs entirely over a secure connection (https). Only those who need to process your order can view your data.

8. Your rights

You may always ask which data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing, receive your data in a common format or object to its processing. Data we are legally required to keep, such as invoices, can only be deleted after the retention period. Email your request to maisonmenr@gmail.com; we reply within one month.

Not satisfied with how we handle your data? You can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).

9. Changes

We may update this privacy policy, for example when the webshop or the law changes. The date below shows when it was last changed. This is a translation of the Dutch privacy policy; in case of doubt, the Dutch version prevails.
